BELLRINGER SUPPLY CORPORATION MARKS 25th ANNIVERSARY
Long Island-based foodservice equipment distributor reaffirms focus and leadership in customer service.
“From the very beginning, our company philosophy has been ‘You Ring, We Bring!’” says president Al Faber. “And we still deliver on that promise.”
NEW YORK, October 1, 2002 -- New York-based foodservice equipment distributor Bellringer Supply Corporation today confirmed that it is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary with the acquisition of four new dealerships –- Hoshizaki America, Inc., Lancaster Colony, Hollowick and Vita-Mix. Simultaneously, the company reaffirmed its commitment to customer service with announcement that it will soon debut its new shopping cart enabled website. “We are as committed to our customers today as we were twenty-five years ago,” said Bellringer president Al Faber today. “From the very beginning, our company philosophy has been ‘You Ring, We Bring’. And we still deliver on that promise.”
Faber went on to explain that locally based customers who place their orders by twelve o’clock noon receive same day delivery. Customers who call their orders in after twelve o’clock noon are guaranteed next day delivery. According to Faber, very few distributors in the foodservice industry offer that kind of customer service. “But, that’s how Bellringer has managed to survive and outlive some of its competitors,” he said. “Quite a few of them have gone out of business in the last twenty-five years, yet Bellringer is still here -- and going strong.”
According to Faber, the only time Bellringer is unable to adhere to the twelve noon/ same day delivery policy is when customers place special orders such as custom imprinted products, or orders for heavy equipment (e.g. – refrigeration). “With respect to those products, we’re really at the mercy of the manufacturers,” he explained. “That’s why we’ve chosen to represent manufacturers like Lancaster Colony, whose customer service policies mirror our own.”
Bellringer has acquired dealerships with other customer-driven manufacturers as well. “Tablecraft, Vita-Mix, G.E.T. Enterprises, Glissen Chemical and Lancaster Colony are some of the companies that we consider to be our strategic partners in the customer service arena. Their support helps drive the Bellringer ‘You Ring, We Bring’ promise.”
In late 1999, Bellringer began extending “You Ring, We Bring” to the internet marketplace as well, with the launch of their website, located at www.bellringersupply.com. In order to meet the demands of this emerging market, Bellringer retained publicist Susan Gaide to implement the company's new business development objectives. “My job,” said Gaide, “was –- and still is –- to assess the needs of the internet marketplace and to develop a marketing and sales strategy to meet those needs.”
“The foodservice market is just starting to grasp the concept of online procurement,” Gaide continued. “It will take some time for buyers in this industry to establish and implement web based procurement procedures for their businesses, but when they’re finally ready to buy online, Bellringer will be ready –- and waiting – -with internet based sales solutions.
Bellringer’s new shopping cart enabled website, set to launch in late September 2002, will feature a sizable virtual inventory that may be viewed and purchased online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or a corporate purchase card.
“Customers will have easy access to product and purchasing information, which will help Bellringer to finally extend its twenty-five year commitment of outstanding customer service to individuals and companies whose foodservice equipment procurement procedures require suppliers with internet-based sales solutions,” said Gaide.
According to Faber, Bellringer's new site will also “spotlight” products sold at higher price points than that which would ordinarily appeal to online buyers.
“We fully realize that most buyers –- even corporate and institutional buyers -– won’t purchase a refrigerator online. But, by displaying these products on the e-commerce site, we will be letting these buyers know that we indeed carry the products they seek, and will be providing them with immediate access to product information,” Faber emphasized. “From there, they can call us to schedule a product demonstration, to receive further product information, or to request a price quote.”
According to Gaide, requests for quote are generally filled within forty-eight hours. “We try hard to turn RFQs around in forty-eight hours,” said Gaide. “And, when customers are ready to make a purchase, we work with the manufacturers to meet the customers’ delivery deadlines. It brings us right back around, full circle to Bellringer’s beginning – ‘You Ring, We Bring.’”
